New USPS Stamps Salute Classic Muscle Cars

News  /   /  By eBay Motors

Philately, if you didn’t know, is the study of stamps and other postal errata. But the term is often used to describe the act of stamp collection. Now that we’ve all learned something today, let’s dig into some news for philatelists with an eye for cars as well as stamps: the United States Postal Service has just released the third set of stamps in its “America on the Move” series, featuring some of the great American muscle cars painted by artist Tom Fritz.

Included in this run of stamps are the 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda, and 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. The America on the Move series began in 2005 with a set dedicated to Sporty Cars of the ‘50s (’53 Corvette, ’55 Thunderbird and more), followed in 2008 by 50s Fins & Chrome. There are still some sets of the Fins & Chrome stamps available, but the Muscle Cars set is expected to sell very quickly. Go to the USPS site for a better look at the stamps themselves and to order your own set!
