Pirelli Company History

Pirelli’s core business focuses on high-end, premium tire products, especially in motorsports. Founded in Milan in 1872, the company has competed in motorsports since 1907.

In the 1970s, Pirelli was the first to develop a wide high-performance radial street tire to handle the extreme performance of a supercar, when they produced a specialized P7 tire for the Lancia Stratos rally car. Pirelli has long been a technical partner for many automakers, building specialized performance tires for the most exacting of drivers and their cars.
